By now pretty much the entire world has seen the Hunger Games, and if you haven’t, I’m sorry…you’re just weird.
The night before the midnight opening I wanted to go but my parents said NO(school night)!
Fast forward 10 minutes: We get a call, turns out it’s my school conveniently reminding us that the next morning was a three hour delay.
Fast forward 30 seconds: After hearing this news, I ,like any other sane Hunger Games fan was screaming on the floor jumping and dancing….for like 8 minutes-straight.
Fast forward 8 minutes: I have no voice but manage to croak out’ “Nowwww can I go?” And to my delight I got a big, fat, juicy, delicious, amazing, gourmet…YES! I called two of my BFF’s and were all insanely excited, not just for the movie itself but for our first midnight movie.
7:00 P.M. next day: We show up at the mall where a medium sized line appears before the theater. We take turns eating, shopping, etc. when I see this girl from an old team. This girl is one of those girls the popular yet super annoying(and bitchy!). I try to walk by her without her seeing me.
9:00P.M.: Rolls around we enter the movie theater and sit down. I turn around, and yep, guess who happens to be sitting directly behind my chair. Mmmhmm, thats right.
12:00A.M.: Cranky after having waited 5 hours for no reason when people were showing up right before the movie, we were ready! You see, all the people in the theater with us were DIE HARD FANS, I am not even kidding you. I mean costumes, singing, shouting, reading and reciting the words(IN the theater) and get this, a girl even asked everyone to salute Rue while she took a picture.
12:05 A.M.:Movie starts, sooooooooooooooooo excited! AHHHHH!!!
2:30 A.M.: It might have been me just being a harsh critic after waiting so long, but I was disappointed. The movie was super fast paced. I felt like they left a lot out AND each scene was just skimmed over, nothing was really gone into detail. Don’t get me wrong-Jennifer Lawrence was great, and so were a lot of the tributes. But Peeta? Did anyone…ANYONE, think Josh Hutcherson should be Peeta? I was a little bit frusterated.
Two Weeks Later: Went to see Hunger Games again. This time around, I realized they did a pretty good job and thoroughly enjoyed it. The awesome effects, amazing star, and emotional scenes carried the movie. It probably was hard creating a movie where there was too much happening in the books, not like Twilight where the book had so little substance, it was probably easy to make the movie;)
I give ***.5 Stars.
If you haven’t, please watch it and let me know what you think below.
